Martin is nearly two decades older than the 60-year-old Minnesota governor, who was tapped this morning to be Kamala Harris' running mate and vice presidential candidate on the Democratic ticket. But that doesn't matter to Saturday Night Live fans. “Oh Steve Martin, get your a** to NYC NOW! SNL needs you!” one X user tweeted, with a second questioning: “So Steve Martin is definitely gonna play Walz on SNL right?” ALSO: Other suggestions include Nick Offerman, Danny DeVito and Jim Gaffigan. |

Steve Martin says he turned down Lorne Michaels request to play Tim Walz on SNL
“I wanted to say no and, by the way, he wanted me to say no,” the funnyman told the paper. “I said, 'Lorne, I'm not an impressionist. You need someone who can really nail the guy.' I was picked because I have gray hair and glasses.” |
