For some time, I have been thinking about the prospect of the original NCIS ending its original run after its upcoming season twenty-two for some time. One reason would be the over-abundance of spinoffs on the CBS primetime schedule (see FBI's Most Wanted and International offshoots) and insistence/consideration of launching even more more (one example being Sheriff Country, the new spin off of Fire Country to launch in 2025-26). Another reason is the death of David McCallum before NCIS's Strikemageddon-delayed season twenty-one started. Not to mention I quit watching NCIS regularly several years ago (I'm not sure when, but I guess it was around 2017).
