Van Der Beek played a fictional version of himself on the 2012-13 ABC comedy. At one point, the fictional Van Der Beek competed on Dancing with the Stars -- and, as it turns out, he's very good at dancing. At the time, the real Van Der Beek said in a Parade interview he would not be interested in competing on the real Dancing with the Stars. “I think it’s more fun to do it this way," he said. "You can play it for laughs and not have to do all that work!” James Van Der Beek says he "100%" planted the seed to go on Dancing with the Stars on Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 "Way back when I was doing Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 (in 2012), I pitched this storyline where the fake me went on the fake Dancing With the Stars," Van Der Beek tells ET. "So it's kind of come up since then. They offered again and I said, 'Oh man, wouldn't that be crazy?' And I was like, 'Crazy. I like crazy.'" |
