Heathcliff to DVD; More DIC Classics In the Works!

Two volume sets with nine episodes each of the classic DIC Entertainment animated series, Heathcliff, will be coming to DVD/VHS on February 24. More DIC classics are also in the works, including Inspector Gadget. Read the press release below:

Charlotte, NC - A 30-year comic book heritage returns to the small screen with the first two highly anticipated home entertainment releases from the hit animated series Heathcliff, featuring "Terror of the Neighborhood" and "Fish Tales" available from UAV Entertainment on VHS and DVD on February 24, 2004. Now, you can join the lovable rogue, Heathcliff and all in his friends in these classic adventures.
These two exciting Heathcliff releases feature the voice talents of the late great Mel Blanc, who brings the comic cat to life. Both releases come with seven action-packed and laughter-filled adventures, where the terrible tabby tries to rule the neighborhood with an iron paw and a tender heart. Each DVD release also comes with two bonus Catillac Cats episodes!

Heathcliff was created in 1973 by George Gately, and became the first newspaper comic character to feature a cat as a main character. Soon, fans young and old could not get enough to the furry prankster. Today, Heathcliff stars in over 1,000 newspaper publications around the world, as well as a bestselling line of children's books, greeting cards, and the #1 selling comic books. As well as starring in numerous animated series and a motion picture, Heathcliff was even named Cat of the 20th Century by a major cat food company!

The Heathcliff releases are the result of a new and exciting distribution agreement between UAV Entertainment and DIC Entertainment to bring DIC's library of animated classics to VHS and DVD. Planned for release in 2004 include Care Bears, Sylvanian Families, The Littles, Sabrina: the Animated Series, Inspector Gadget, and Super Mario Bros.
