I remember an interview that Willie Mays did with Bob Costas on HBO back in I believe, the 2000s. One of Willie Mays' closest and dearest friends was Tony Owen, who just so happened to be Donna Reed's husband in real life. Whenever Willie really needed money, Tony Owen was among the first people that he would call. Naturally, Owen said that he couldn't give Willie the money upfront and that he had to "work for it" by coming on his wife's TV show.
