4 months. Would have been sooner had the wife agreed to a drive-thru wedding in Vegas.

Here I thought I would have the shortest time.
(It still might be)
Torgo, how long did you two know each other before marriage?
Just 4 months or longer?

From the time my wife and I met until we got married ~~
was only 10 months!
That will be 38 years this August 2024.

We even met with the Minister for about 4 weeks before he would perform the marriage.
He told us that he knew couples that were together for 5 years, that didn't know each other as well as we did.
My wife even had 4 kids from a previous marriage, 3 that I eventually adopted.
Her son was the oldest, 15 and decided he didn't want to get adopted.

Dave and I knew each other for just over a year. We were both from the same small town. His family owned the Hardwsre Store in town. I really didn't know Dave as he was much older(7 years) and we didn't meet until he was out of the Army. But something clicked and we started dating. I was 17 , A Senior in high school, he was 24. My parents weren't too thrilled. LOL But after I graduated we got engaged the following August,1968. We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2018 and shortly after that he developed Dementia and was basically absent from my life from then on until he passed in 2022.

A Year. It didn't matter - we knew we were meant for each other whenever it happened.

I wouldn't Propose on Christmas or a big holiday. Too much pressure. What if it doesn't work out? Christmas is ruined for both of you.

My advice, don't go big on the wedding. We had a back-yard ceremony. Guests say it was the best wedding ever. No-body had to dress up. Just a Priest and BBQ.

We did go a little big on the Honeymoon - not one regret.
