I was engaged from February 2004 until getting married in February 2006. We are still happily married.

4 months. Would have been sooner had the wife agreed to a drive-thru wedding in Vegas.

Here I thought I would have the shortest time. ![]() (It still might be) Torgo, how long did you two know each other before marriage? Just 4 months or longer? From the time my wife and I met until we got married ~~ was only 10 months! That will be 38 years this August 2024. We even met with the Minister for about 4 weeks before he would perform the marriage. He told us that he knew couples that were together for 5 years, that didn't know each other as well as we did. My wife even had 4 kids from a previous marriage, 3 that I eventually adopted. Her son was the oldest, 15 and decided he didn't want to get adopted. |

A Year. It didn't matter - we knew we were meant for each other whenever it happened.
I wouldn't Propose on Christmas or a big holiday. Too much pressure. What if it doesn't work out? Christmas is ruined for both of you. My advice, don't go big on the wedding. We had a back-yard ceremony. Guests say it was the best wedding ever. No-body had to dress up. Just a Priest and BBQ. We did go a little big on the Honeymoon - not one regret. |
