Three popular Melrose Place original cast members, Heather Locklear, Laura Leighton and Daphne Zuniga, are reuniting for a followup to the 1990s staple. A Melrose Place reboot, with the trio attached to star, is in development at CBS Studios and is currently being shopped to networks and streamers, Deadline has learned.

In the new installment, when one of their dearest friends dies suddenly, the OG residents of Melrose Place gather to honor the deceased. But the pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.

Lisa Rinna is campaigning to be back on the reboot to “Melrose Place”

“Well, gosh, I’ve heard about it,” Rinna told People. “I haven’t been approached or anything, but I would love to see what Taylor McBride is up to 25 years later. Wouldn’t that be something?”

Rinna said working on Melrose Place “was one of my greatest and most fun acting experiences,” working alongside “Heather [Locklear] and the whole crew.”

“I mean, it was just a great, great experience,” she added. “So if they need a Taylor McBride appearance, they know who to call. I’m around.”

Rinna famously campaigned to be cast in the 2009 Melrose Place reboot on The CW, but the series was canceled after one season.

In the followup series, the Melrose Place residents reunite after the death of one of their friends, “But the pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.”

"Melrose Place" Cast Teases Upcoming Reboot

The cast of "Melrose Place", which reunited for the first time in years, teased the status of the series’ upcoming revival on a panel at ’90s Con Florida, held in Daytona Beach Sept. 14.

“Everyone has agreed to do it,” star Daphne Zuniga said, via People. “Laura and I worked on this for a little bit now. It is in talks. Business affairs and lawyers and all those types are talking about it, and they do want to do it.”



Joined by fellow castmates Heather Locklear, Josie Bissett, Brooke Langton, Laura Leighton and Grant Show, Zuniga added that they’re waiting for the talks to go through. Her colleague, Leighton, added that there were “many moving parts and pieces.”

“The stars need to align, but we want it as much as the fans want it,” she said.
