Travis Kelce in Talks to Host "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?" for Amazon

Travis Kelce has made no secret of his interest in an off-field career when he retire from the NFL. The Kansas City Chief tight end is now in talks to host his first game show – a reboot of "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?" for Amazon.

Sources told Deadline that there are conversations but a deal is not yet closed. This could also depend on his availability given that he appears ready to suit up for the Super Bowl champions for another seasons – a “threepeat” if you like.

Kelce previously hosted dating show "Catching Kelce" for the USA Network, long before he got together with Taylor Swift.

This would be the 5th version of the game show format from Mark Burnett. It previously aired on Fox from 2007-2009 and in 2015 with Jeff Foxworthy as host. A syndicated version also aired from 2009-11.

WWE superstar John Cena hosted a revival on Nickelodeon in 2019.

For some reason ever since he began dating Taylor Swift it seems that Travis Kelce is becoming a huge name for himself. And now he's gonna add game show host to his resume and how can he host a new version of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader is really surprising? Because I think Jeff Foxworthy did an awesome job as the original host of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader and what they should've done was ask John Cena to host the show again and what I can see when the new version of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader debuts the ratings will get weak and I can tell you after the third episode of the show it will be cancelled. For some reason after they retire football players seem to move on to become game show hosts and they think it's fun. I mean look at the football player who hosted the CBS daytime version of Wheel Of Fortune in 1989 but I think Travis Kelce will become a hit game show host with a long career ahead of him

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is set to host "Are You Smarter than a Celebrity?", a spin-off of "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?", for Amazon’s Prime Video service.

Prime Video has handed the series a 20-episode order and it is being produced by MGM Alternative.

Each game will welcome an adult contestant who will rely on a classroom full of celebrities to help them answer 11 questions on a range of subjects, pulled from elementary curriculum, in an effort to win a $100,000 prize, per the logline.

They are not competing against the stars… they’re enlisting their help and, in some cases, can even “cheat” off of them. And on the final question, worth $100,000, the contestant selects one celebrity to discuss the answer with before locking in.

The final question is always at the 6th-grade level.

“I grew up loving game shows, and I’m excited to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons by hosting my very first one with 'Are You Smarter than a Celebrity?'.

The original show is a great success, so to be bringing a new format with everyone’s favorite celebrities to the screen, will definitely be entertaining. I’m just happy to be on the hosting side of the equation here and excited to see how these famous faces keep up,” said Kelce.

Travis Kelce's "Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?" is set to premiere on Wednesday, October 16 on Amazon’s Prime Video.

Season 1 of the game show consists of 20 episodes, with three episodes dropping on the premiere date. After the initial release, one new episode will be released weekly.
