The tech giant's Prime Video streaming platform has named Patton Oswalt as host of The 1% Club, an adaptation of a hit British quiz show. In a novel arrangement, Fox will air the show in a second window, eight days after episodes debut on Prime Video. |

Fox Renews "The 1% Club" for Season 2 as Amazon Steps Back; Joel McHale Takes Over as Host
by Armando Tinoco Jan. 23, 2025 "The 1% Club" has been renewed for a second season at Fox, with Amazon taking a step back. The game show originally premiered on Prime Video in 2024, with Fox as a broadcast partner. Fox will now air the show exclusively for its 2025-26 season, with Joel McHale taking over hosting duties from Patton Oswalt. “Joel’s outstanding comedic timing and hosting charm already make him a standout talent here at FOX, and now — building on The 1% Club’s strong first year on the network — we’re bringing his unrivaled energy, irreverence, and charisma to Season Two,” said Michael Thorn, President of FOX Television Network. “I am 1,000,000% excited to be partnering with Fox to host The 1% Club,” McHale said. “I absolutely love the show and love the gameplay to the 10𝑥 and guarantee my hair, makeup, and wardrobe will look great at least 68% of the time.” https://deadline.com/2025/01/fox-ren...st-1236265773/ |

Ugh! Not a Joel McHale fan, I liked Patton Oswalt as the host.

Joel McHale is Terrible at Puzzles but Loves Hosting Fox’s "The 1% Club" – Reality TV Summit
by Peter White May 4, 2026 Joel McHale is a popular man at Fox; he hosts "Crime Scene Kitchen", stars in scripted comedy "Animal Control" and is also now the host of game show "The 1% Club". The comedian said that it’s “the greatest job in the world”. “I am terrible at puzzles, so I think they thought it would be funny to have a host that was dumber than all the contestants, and they really are so much smarter. They would only get 30 seconds [for each puzzle] and I would need a year. If they put me on a desert island and said, solve these puzzles. I couldn’t do it. They’re insane.” “I can’t believe someone is paying me to be on camera and tell jokes. It’s the greatest job in the world.” He joked that it’s quite hard to remember all 100 of the contestants names. “I can’t keep track of their names or where they are, and then they always send me an edit of here’s how many times you called this one person Carissa.” An earwig doesn’t seem to help. “I still get it wrong. But it’s really fun to make. Those the people are super smart, so they’re clearly not in the entertainment business,” he added. https://deadline.com/2026/05/joel-mc...it-1236880199/ |
