Default Marvel releases the trailer for X-Men ‘97

https://www.theverge.com/24073775/x-...ey-plus-marvel

"Picking up right after the events of X-Men: The Animated Series’ finale, X-Men ‘97 is set to continue the stories of all the mutants Charles Xavier left behind when he departed Earth to journey to the Shi’ar homeworld," says Charles Pulliam-Moore of the Disney+ animated series. "In the new trailer, it’s clear that all of Xavier’s former students are still reeling from the loss of their beloved mentor, but even after all the times mutants have saved the world, humanity still hates their kind and is dead set on wiping the X-gene off the face of the Earth." X-Men ‘97 premieres March 20.

If anyone but Disney was behind this, I would at least be cautiously excited. Over the last 5 years, I just cant trust them to deliver a good entertainment product.

No wonder I keep seeing promotions and pre-orders of new X-Men action figures everywhere for this show because it's a sign that Marvel expects X-Men '97 to be a hit. I wonder how it's gonna be such a hit because we haven't seen a brand new X-Men cartoon since Wolverine and The X-Men was cancelled and the other X-Men cartoons did alright. Growing up my cousin and I used to watch the original X-Men cartoon on Fox Kids in the 90's and I thought it was really cool. In the X-Men I have three favorites but my crush is Wolverine because he is tough but handsome second is Gambit because I love his powers and he really is awesome with his cards and third is Cyclops because I think he is cute and his powers are amazing. I think Marvel is hoping that with X-Men '97 they will introduce new X-Men fans to the series and if this series is indeed a hit Marvel will keep adding new additions to the X-Men cartoon line

Marvel fires X-Men ’97 creator Beau DeMayo ahead of next week’s premiere

DeMayo, who was scheduled to attend Wednesday night's premiere promoting the March 20 launch of his new Disney+ animated series, was abruptly fired last week, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which adds that DeMayo "had completed writing duties" for Season 2 before his firing. "Early last week, Marvel and DeMayo suddenly parted ways. His company email was deactivated and cast and crew were informed he was no longer on the project," reports The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit and Aaron Couch. "DeMayo’s Instagram account, once a source for X-Men updates, was deleted. No reason for the firing was given. Marvel had no comment. DeMayo’s representatives did not return calls for comment and emails to the showrunner yielded no response. It was surprising turn of events on the eve of the show’s March 20 debut. Splitting with writers is a normal part of business for Marvel or any studio. However, it is unusual for a top creative on a Marvel project to miss a premiere or cancel press plans last minute, even if they’ve been shuffled to the side. Most Marvel premieres feature multiple screenwriters walking the red carpet, some of whom had been rewritten by other writers also walking the carpet."

Looks like this is already srtarting out on the wrong foot. You just can't trust Disney, with any major Marvel or Star Wars property.

On the eve of it's release, writer, producer and showrunner Beau DeMayo was unceremoniously fired from Marvel's X-Men '97, the animated rebvival which very well could lead into Deadpool vs. Wolverine.

Did he do something to make that happen, or is he a victim of Bob Iger changing his mind and strategies? Let's find out!

X-Men '97 is the best X-Men adaptation of all time

The first three episodes of the Disney+ Marvel series screened for critics were great, says William Hughes.

Fired X-Men '97 creator: Where's my Emmy invite?

"To those asking, Marvel-Disney has not reached out to arrange my attendance to the Emmy's for the show I created #xmen97," DeMayo wrote in an X post. "We shall see. My team has reached out [shrug emoji].

Despite the continuity errors between '97 and the original series, I really enjoyed it.

I thought using Sunspot as a POV character was a great idea. I've always liked him. I'm hoping we get some of the other New Mutants in the next season. Cannonball and Warlock both made appearances in the original run. I'd love to see Dani Moonstar and Doug Ramsey.
