Default Revisiting Nickelodeon Guts

"Do You Have It"
If you were a kid growing up in the 90's you probably remember watching Nickelodeon Guts on Nickelodeon and when you heard the opening catchphrase above you knew it was gonna be fun. Though many people called Nickelodeon Guts a kids ripoff of American Gladiators this was the show that let kids show their sporty side and with the awesome final challenge known as the Agro Crag this show is considered one of Nickelodeon's most awesome game shows. After finishing the final season of Legends Of The Hidden Temple this week I began watching Nickelodeon Guts and I can say that the debut episode is the most fun of Season 1 because of the awesome challenges. My favorite challenge of this episode was the archery challenge and this one let the contestants show off their inner Hawkeye and was pretty neat but the last challenge was hard to do. I did like the clever nicknames given to each contestant and if I was a contestant on Nickelodeon Guts my name would be "Hawkee The Hawk" and the ceremony at the end was amazing and it was neat to see the winner crowned with a medal and a piece of the Agro Crag as a prize and I wondered how they created those pieces and did they actually light up?. It's also hard to believe that this show along with the previous show Get The Picture made Mike O'Malley a game show host before becoming well-known as a sitcom star on CBS's Yes Dear and the referee Moira Quirk is full of energy and I wonder if she got really famous as well

I saw the second episode of the debut season of Nickelodeon Guts and I can say that I agree that it seemed like a ripoff of American Gladiators made for kids but I think this was the show that proved that Nickelodeon was aiming for sports oriented game shows rather than the trivia show style of game shows that kids liked. But as I said in my opening post Nickelodeon should reboot Nickelodeon Guts because of it's unique style and sports image. I wonder what happened to Moira Quirk after Nickelodeon Guts ended because the last time I heard about her she did a voice in the video game Legend Of The Guardians

I watched Episode 3 of Season 1 of Nickelodeon Guts and I can say this episode was a lot better than the previous two I saw and I thought it was so cool. How did the idea for Nickelodeon Guts come about? Was it to capture the success of Double Dare or was it because Nickelodeon wanted a sports themed game show? I also liked how the contestants helmets had their names on them and I thought that was neat and I think I would look cool with a helmet that says "HAWKEE" on it

Episode 4 of Nickelodeon Guts actually introduces new challenges for Season 1 and one that I saw was one named Boogie Board and it sounds like an easy challenge to get across the pool and two other challenges named Slam Dunk and a bike race that looked really cool but I perfer the Moon Shoes race better. But it seems like the obstacle course like challenge is hard and why few contestants can get across it is so challenging to do. I noticed that when the contestants take their final landing Mike O'Malley calls the cushion that they land on a freefall but when I have seen it it looks like an air mattress and I wonder if that's what they use as a freefall because also it seems that the contestants are known to take a nap after they finish the obstacle course challenge. Did this ever happen to Nickelodeon Guts contestants sometimes? My mom saw a bit of the episode with me and she couldn't believe that Jimmy from Yes Dear was hosting Nickelodeon Guts

I think Nickelodeon should've continued making more seasons of Nickelodeon Guts because I think it was more popular than any other Nickelodeon game show. I have seen 7 episodes of Season 1 and I think it was amazing. But I think it was the debut of Legends Of The Hidden Temple that caused Nickelodeon Guts to lose some of it's watchers and that's why the show got cancelled. It would sure be cool to see a new revival of Nickelodeon Guts being made for Nickelodeon in the future with Jeremy Renner having hosting duties because he would be a perfect fit for this show

So far I have been enjoying this show and it's really exciting and I wonder how Nickelodeon Guts got created? Even my mom likes it and likes some of the neat challenges it has but especially Mike O'Malley because my mom thinks he's funny. I wonder whatever became of Moira "Mo" Quirk? Where is she from? Because when I watch I noticed that she speaks with an Australian accent and is she Australian?

Ahh the AggroCrag. I loved this show, but stopped watching it when it went the "global" route. Apparently its streaming somewhere so I need to go back and watch.

You can find Nickelodeon Guts on Paramount+ in the Nickelodeon section and you can also watch another favorite game of mine Legends Of The Hidden Temple on there too as well. I watch Nickelodeon Guts every Monday and Thursday on Paramount+ and it's really cool
Thank you very much for writing Dead2009,

This video is meant to be a history, but not necessarily an extensive history on one of my favorite game show of mine (and for many others), Nickelodeon GUTS.

I do not claim property of anything in this video, as I am merely using it for educational purposes to inform and tell the story and history of a show
that was a part of Nickelodeon's Golden Years.

I hope you enjoy the video and if you did, please like, comment, and subscribe for more videos like it.

The greatest challenge for kids in the 90s was Nickelodeon GUTS' mighty Aggro Crag. In a similar way to Olmec's temple from Legends of the Hidden Temple, the original crag, the mega crag, and the super Aggro Crag have all become icons of the golden age of Nickelodeon game shows and Nick GaS. Here are some of the best Aggro Crag runs and stories from across the shows more than 100 full episodes as well as a general history and breakdown of the crag itself.

Do you have it? D-d-d-d-d-d-do you have it??? GUTS!"

We've got Guts here at The PopComplex. It's time for NICKvember again where we take a look at nostalgic 90s Nickelodeon. Nickelodeon's GUTS ran for 4 seasons from September 1992 to December 1995 and consisted of 160 episodes. The fourth and final season was known as Global Guts and featured players from countries all over the world. Each episode showcased three contestants ranging from ages 10-15 competing in unique and EXTREME sports challenges to see who had GUTS! The fifth and final round was the Aggro Crag, the mountain that showed no mercy! The player who earned the most points at the end, would take home the glory, the gold medal and a glowing piece of that Radical Rock.

Nickelodeon GUTS ran for three seasons in the 1990s with a brand new idea for competition and even took it worldwide for an additional season. We take a look back at the premise of the show and how it worked.

From 1992 to 1996, she was the referee on the Nickelodeon athletic game show Guts, but ‘90s kids probably wonder why they haven’t seen Moira “Mo” Quirk as much in recent years. Guts host Mike O’Malley has gone on to a profitable acting career, but—while you might not see her face—Quirk has as well. Quirk has spent most of her time doing voice work for cartoons, radio dramas, and audiobooks, which she finds quite fulfilling. Nick fans will be glad to know she’s still friends with Mike O’Malley (one of the only people who calls her “Mo”), so let’s take a look at what has happened to Moira Quirk since her days on Guts.
