Question How would you make a classification system for one-hit wonders

For example, who exactly could possibly fall under the following categories:
  • An artist who technically only had one hit but is an iconic artist rarely considered a one-hit wonder in the public eye. See Jimi Hendrix as an example.
  • An artist who had more than one big hit but one song overshadows everything else. See Rick Astley as an example.
  • An artist who only had one hit but is well known outside music. See Bruce Willis as an example.
  • An artist from a well-known band who only had one hit as a solo artist. See Roger Daltrey as an example.
  • A band who only had one hit but contains someone well known from another group or as a soloist. See DNCE as an example.
  • An artist who only had one hit in one country but were more popular in their homeland. See Dexys Midnight Runners as an example.
  • An artist with multiple genre hits only one mainstream hit, but aren’t well-known enough in the mainstream. See Hoobastank as an example.
  • An artist who only had one big hit but minor hits are also fondly remembered, but still vastly overshadowed by the big hit. See A-ha as an example.
  • An artist who only had one hit and are only known in the mainstream for that one song, but has a sizable cult following. See Gotye as an example.
  • An artist who had only one top 40 hit but had airplay-only top 40 hits in the '90s. See The Presidents of the United States of America as an example.
  • A one-hit wonder whose only hit is largely forgotten today. See Kyper as an example.
  • A one-hit wonder whose only hit flopped initially and didn’t become a hit until several years later. See Charlene as an example.
  • An artist who technically had another minor hit but it’s completely forgotten today and they’re only known for one song nowadays. See Tommy Tutone as an example.
  • An artist considered a one hit wonder for a song that wasn’t actually a big chart hit. See Wheatus as an example.
  • An artist who had one big hit song but are known as a one-hit wonder for a much smaller chart hit. See The Romantics as an example.
  • A pure one-hit wonder, known for that one song and nothing else. See Omi or Los del Río as examples.
  • An artist whose “one hit” wasn’t heir biggest chart hit. See MC Hammer as an example.
  • An artist who only had one hit of their own but became more accomplished as a songwriter. See Semisonic as an example.
  • An artist whose only hit was a cover of an obscure song. See Toni Basil as an example.
  • An artist whose only hit was a cover of a famous song. See Ritt Momney or Alien Ant Farm as examples.
  • An artist who only had one hit, but became famous through a musical competition TV show. See Elliott Yamin as an example.
  • An artist who only had one hit as a lead but others as a featured artist. See Colby O'Donis as an example.
  • An artist whose only hit was as a featured artist. See Wanz or Mikky Ekko as examples.
  • An artist who was a one hit wonder both in a group and as a solo artist. See Limahl as an example.
  • An artist who is a member of multiple one-hit wonder groups. See Tony Burrows as an example.
  • An artist who died before they could have a second hit. See Minnie Riperton as an example.
  • An artist who's only top 40 hit is a song that no one remembers, despite the rest of the artists discography still remembered to this day. See Moby or Korn as examples.
  • A hit that was never even intended to be an actual commercial song. See Louis Theroux as an example.
  • A hit that succeeded because it hit something in the zeitgeist, like a political current. See Oliver Anthony Music as an example.
  • A non-commercial/non-pop music artist who scored one mainstream hit. See Chumbawamba as an example.
  • Artists who easily could have had more hits, but straight up just didn't want any. Again, see Chumbawamba as an example.
  • An artist who had only one hit but also has another well-known song from mass media. See Rick Derringer as an example.
  • Artist who only had one hit but later wrote songs that would become hits for other artists. Again see Semisonic as well as New Radicals, SR-71, and 4 Non Blondes as examples.
  • An artist who only had one charting single as lead artist (though it peaked within the top 40) but had one or more other hit songs as featured artist. Again, see Colby O'Donis as an example.
  • Should’ve been a one-hit wonder, but they actually were really good and evolved and even changed the landscape of alt rock as a whole. See Radiohead as an example.
  • An artist who only hit is a hit that didn't chart because of it being a '90s airplay hit. See The Cardigans as an example.
  • An artist whose hit is a remix of another one of their songs. See Mr. Probz as an example.
  • A hit that was only popular because it was a dance trend. See Silentó as an example.
  • A hit that reached number one. See Ini Kamoze as an example.
  • A one hit wonder but for an album. See Lauryn Hill as an example.
  • A big hit in five or less countries, but was not a hit anywhere else. See Nizlopi as an example.
  • An artist who only had one hit song but also is prominent as an uncredited artist on another hit song. See Aloe Blacc as an example.
  • Artists who only had one hit in the United States, but are massive overseas, and said hit wasn't their biggest song. See S Club 7 or Mike Oldfield as examples.
  • Technically a one hit wonder but too recent to call if there will be a follow-up. See Kenya Grace as an example.
