With the DCEU era coming to an end with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, we are taking a look back at the now abandoned universe to discuss what went right and where it went terribly wrong. It's an interesting case study for future world builders, so lets get into it!

The DCEU was once called a “fractious” environment by James Gunn, but how did it get that way? Today, we’ll be discussing the history of DC, DC movies, and the failed DC Extended Universe.

The DC Extended Universe. What was once seen as a potential rival to the massively successful Marvel Cinematic Universe, is now being abandoned after 16 movies and 1 show spanning a 10 year life time. Movies in general, have to earn 2 and a half times their budget to break even. The DCEU’s box office has been erratic to say the least, so throughout this documentary you will see some movies easily earn a profit and others failing to break even. This documentary highlights the 8 key moments of the DCEU. So join me today on this journey as we explore the downfall of the DCEU.

The DCEU dies at age ten. It began with the hope and promise of a Superman snapping a man's neck, and it ends with Jason Momoa's Aquaman being a drunken good time. In this very special ScreenCrush video, we pay tribute to the franchise that barely was.

It has been 10 years since the start of the DCEU with Man of Steel. Where has DC been now? Good ? Bad? Yes, mostly bad. We unravel 10 years worth of disappointments with this franchise and go a bit in depth with the history of it. The DCEU started off strong with Man of Steel, but things quickly went downhill. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was criticized for being too dark and convoluted, and Justice League was a mess. Many DC fans have lost faith in the DCEU, and the upcoming Aquaman 2 is also expected to flop.

In this video, I discuss Fall of the DCEU. I argue that the studio needs to take a step back and focus on making good movies, rather than trying to copy the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I also believe that they need to give more creative control to the filmmakers.

I'm still a DC fan at heart, but I'm taking a break from the DCEU for now. I hope that one day, the studio will get its act together and make movies that are worthy of the DC characters.

The DCEU is dead. Its story is a tragedy. But who is responsible?

Like all mysteries, the answer isn't simple. I've narrowed it down to 10 mistakes that killed the DCEU. There is a lot of blame to go around, with everyone holding a little bit of the blame.

As this version of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and so many other great characters come to a close, it's time to try to figure out why this franchise was never able to really get off the ground.

The DCEU is coming to an end this December with Aquaman 2 and where as this mess of a universe has had some great moments it's also had terrible moments. With David Goyer recently ripping into WB and talking about where they have gone wrong with DC in recent history, I decided to make a hypothetical about what I would have done to salvage this universe and bring it down the right track. Instead of how it's derailed and dissipated into nothingness.

Much like DC Comics, the DC Extended Universe has started going down a road causing many die hard fans to suffer from Crossover Fatigue. Every few years DC Comics puts out another Crisis Book seemingly to clean up the timelines they have created over the last decade. When this happens over and over again, fans of DC Comics start to notice the stories becoming old and tired. Can the DCEU prevent this from happening? Or has it already started?

There's controversy and then there's comic book movie controversy. While usually its concerning something more lighthearted like the internet losing their minds over some kind casting decision, we sometimes get the darker stuff. Like "shifting an entire studio's hierarchy" level of craziness. From reported verbal abuse to alleged threatening of careers to Ben Affleck's struggles throughout the making, there's a lot of bad that came from Warner's 2017 film. So today on DC Revisited, we're diving into the moustache removing and tone lightening of Joss Whedon's Justice League.

It's finally here! The end of the Zack Snyder DCEU Trilogy. Possibly the most controversial of his entire tenure with the DC Extended Universe. Examining the major highs and lowest of lows. Looking at the powerful and beauty that is fandom. But also how ugly and vindictive it can be. Analyzing side by side the major differences between the theatrical cut and the Snydercut. Finally, tying it all together by looking at Zack Snyder as the artist. Why is he so controversial? When is indulgences too much? How can art be objective? All that and more in this final chapter to the Zack Snyder Trilogy.

The Marvel Cinematic universe, a film franchise that was kicked off by Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man 1 in 2008 and in December of 2021 released it’s 27th film, Spider-Man No Way Home. The DC Extended Universe kicked off in 2013 with Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel and in 2021 released its 11th film with James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Today we discuss the real reason as to why the MCU succeeded and why the DCEU has forever been in their shadow.

Its not secret that the DCEU hasn't exactly been a roaring success, and the recent reshuffle that brought in James Gunn, and shunted out Henry Cavill and almost everyone else, got me thinking about how badly this whole franchise went wrong.

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is looking to be a box office flop. Is this failure because the movie doesn't matter for the future of the brand or could it be because fans don't want to see Amber Heard? Either way this is the last movie in the universe Zach Snyder ran for years and the end of a sad era for the legendary characters of the Justice League.
