The Saturday night game between the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Chargers will go commercial-free in the fourth quarter and feature more sideline stories, studio hits and game content. Noting that Peacock is paying $110 million to exclusively show Saturday's game and a January playoff game, The Wall Street Journal's Joe Flint reports: "The move seems counterintuitive, given that NFL games are a premium destination for advertisers and a cash machine for media companies. Peacock is expecting a lot of new viewers, however, and wants to give them a first-class experience that will persuade them to become paying subscribers." |
