Default Everybody Loves Raymond Reboot Chances Get Blunt Response From Ray Romano

https://screenrant.com/everybody-lov...mano-response/

Ray Romano bluntly addresses the possibility of reviving Everybody Loves Raymond, following the trend of recent sitcoms that were resurrected.

In my opinion, a reboot of this show would be too sad with one of the twins being gone already which is why a reboot of the 7th Heaven show would be no different with one of the twins from that show being gone now too.

God bless you and the remaining cast members of each show always!!!

Could a show like ELR even work today? As others have suggested, it was probably the he last big standard-bearer for the type of sitcom (i.e. one about a thoroughly dysfunctional family) that started with Married with...Children back in 1987. The difference however is that instead of reveling in the MWC-style cynicism, it wanted to be treated like a wholesome feel-good family show in spite of the fact that all of the characters were awful.

As a relatable family sitcom, Everybody Loves Raymond seems primed for the revival treatment given to similar shows. However, with numerous cast members sadly deceased, the odds of a reboot appear slim. Much of the show’s humor and heart sprung from Raymond’s interactions with his meddling parents. With Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle both passed on, that crucial dynamic would be lost. Recasting such iconic roles could prove detrimental as well. At this point, a reboot without such pivotal players would likely pale in comparison to the comforts that are still enjoyed in the original reruns.

I definitely agree with Mr. Romano 100%.

STOP REVIVING CONCLUDED LONG-RUNNING SHOWS, PLEASE!

Ray Romano doesn't want Hollywood to reboot 'Everybody Loves Raymond': 'I'm just a little protective'

Ray Romano likes when other countries reboot "Everybody Loves Raymond," but doesn't want to see it happen in America.

^^^ I don't even know if that show can be re-booted even if the complete and total cast was still here. Considering everything that happened during the nine years that the show went on for, what else could be written for it?

God bless you and the remaining cast members always!!!

It could be cute. The kids could be grown up and parents of t heir own and Deborah would have to not act like her MIL.

In real life, one of the boys is gone. On the show, or in a reboot, they could work around that.

There are many cast members who have passed. All the actors (6) who played parents of Ray/Robert, Debra, and Amy are gone. One of the Sweeten twins (the twins played the Barones' twin sons) committed suicide several years ago.

Too much time has passed, too many actors have passed--this idea is just not a good one. Enjoy the reruns!

The dynamic of the show wasn’t Ray, Debra and Robert Barone; it was Ray, Debra, Robert, Frank and Marie Barone all living uncomfortably close to each other. If you remove any of these ingredients, it’s no longer “Everybody Loves Raymond.”

Similarly, you can’t have “The King of Queens” without Jerry Stiller.

‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ Star Brad Garrett Says the Sitcom Will ‘Never’ Be Rebooted: ‘There Is No Show Without the Parents’

Brad Garrett is shutting down rumors of an “Everybody Loves Raymond” reboot. While at the premiere of Disney Pixar’s “Elio” on June 10, Garrett spoke with People magazine about whether the sitcom would be rebooted. The actor, who played Ray Romano’s brother in the series, confirmed that there won’t be a revival of the show …

^^^ You have to admit that he is right. The show would not be the same without Frank and Marie. I can't see Ray and Debra keeping alive and kicking everything that was wrong about their parents, and the same thing goes for Robert and Amy after they too had kids.

God bless you and the remaining cast members always!!!

Holly

P.S. If the show were to come back, my only questions would concern the twin boys. One of them in real life isn't here anymore. Would that be written into the show and if yes, would suicide be the reason for the absence like it is in real life?
