We know the actor was admitted into a Los Angeles-area hospital Tuesday night, coming in through the emergency room. A witness tells us Kel appeared to be conscious and alert when he arrived.

The cause of Kel's illness is unclear, but we do know as of Wednesday, he was still in the hospital getting treatment. It's unknown when he'll be released or what his current condition is.

We reached out to Kel's reps, who did not comment on his situation.

Kel Mitchell Gives Health Update after Hospitalization

Kel Mitchell has provided a health update after it was reported he was hospitalized. The actor took to Instagram to share a video where he explained what exactly happened to him.

“For those curious about recent events and my well-being, appreciate the concern and sending love your way. This should bring some clarity,” read the caption of the post.

In the video, Mitchell says, “I was out shopping when suddenly the whole room started spinning. So I was like, ‘I must be dehydrated so I need to go get some water, some food.’ When I did that, the whole right side of my arm was numb, followed by me not being able to swallow. That’s when I panicked. And so I drove myself to the hospital.”

Mitchell said that when he was admitted to the hospital they did some studies on him and failed an “arm and a leg test” saying, “I could not move my right arm,” which affected his motor skills.

Doctors then ordered a CT scan which gave him some clarity into his condition.

“It was actually a bulging disc that I had from a prior injury that was pressing up against a nerve, mimicking all those symptoms that I was going through,” he added. “I’m thanking God that I am good. Thank y’all for all the prayers in the comments. Even the crazy ones. I saw the, ‘Give him some orange soda in his IV.'”
