Did Joyce DeWitt's performances change a lot after Suzanne Somers left - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Like in the earlier episodes, she as Janet is very grounded, down to earth, and sensible. But later, particularly after Suzanne/Chrissy leaves, didn't Joyce's performances like I said, change? Like, she started speaking in a higher pitched voice and she would do this wide eyed stare - "Oh JACK!"

The Janet character was the serious, stable and the one that would set up the jokes for Jack and Chrissy. Once Chrissy left, Janet changed.

Yes. Janet became the new Chrissy to Terry's off-brand version of Season 1-5's Janet.

How also how did she SHRINK!? I noticed in the early episodes, Janet looked about the same size as Chrissy, her bone structure, shoulders and all maybe have even been a little larger than Chrissy's, at least it looks that way in the pictures from the first seasons.... BUT in the later episodes Janet looks incredibly TINY, small tiny shoulders, shorter, it's like her entire bone structure shrunk! And it seems like someone was often making a joke or comment about how tiny or short Janet is..... That never happened in the early episodes as she didn't seem that unusually short then

Like in this pic from the earlier years Janet's head and structure look practically on par with Jack's! And looks bigger than Chrissy, but in the later years Janet looks tiny when next to Jack
