I dont have a problem with it at all. Its basically like a uniform. They might not be the nicest things to wear, but you go to school to learn, not to dress, and it can save a lot of embarassment for those who cannot afford nice things. I just finished school and we only had dress codes (which no one followed-esecially the freshman tramps). In a school like mine, uniforms or Common Dress should be something they should look into. Not all schools should have them. The schools where they have no control over the punks the kids (like mine-seriously it was always the SAME kids in suspension, I swear they got a package deal. Its like a vacation, you sit all day and sleep! ). Ive never been against uniforms, I dont think schools should start off with uniforms, but if no one follows the dress code, then my God make it a requirement.

Default Here's a subject where I'll probably need restraints with

I'm glad I got out of high school before they enforced uniforms, believe me it was coming sooner or later. The dress codes they did have at my school were so stupid. All shirt tails (even on sweaters) had to be tucked in. I hated doing that, but they got on to me if I didn't have my shirt tucked in. You just let some chick that wore a skirt up to her ass walk by the principals- and she wouldn't get yelled at. Others would get yelled at about skirt lengths while others could slip by everytime. We have rules on how long skirts and shorts have to be. I wear normal clothes. I don't expose my breasts or butt, so they should've left those that wear normal clothes alone. They had some more dumb clothing rules, but I won't go into that here.

Thank God I'm out of that hell hole.

Not really. If everyone had to wear the same thing, then it would be about who has the best white polo...or the most expensive penny loafers...

In college, we have an unofficial dress code: sweat pants with a T-shirt or sweat shirt.

wow- we have no dress code at all in my school. I think its a good idea to have a few guidelines because it can be really insane otherwise but I would HATE having an actual uniform.

Ok that is like nothing...I am so against dress code/ uniforms ect.... ugh it can get outrageous... Ok at my school we have a certain uniform that you have to buy at a certain store the school is in partnership with...All the clothes have the school insignia on it so they know if it is correct or not. Ugh the girls skirts can only be 2 inches above the knee (they hae a ruler) and girls heels can only be two inchs high (they also use a ruler) guys cant have facial hair, Hair in general is to be kept neat, Not flamboyent and makeup is to be kept to MINIMUM!!! Guys can have one ear peirceing nothing else, and hair colors that are found in nature are only allowed...No bleached colors abnormal reds ect etc....I could go on forever but I'll stop before I make myself ill....lol So someone please pass a law to make any kind of "dress code" ILLEGAL Since I'm bored....I'll post some more things, If your collar buttons are unbuttoned you get detension, If you have like 25 dress code things by the end of the year they can kick you out of school...Absolutely no sneakers , sandels or backless shoes...Dress shoes are the only thing tolerated....and yeah you get the picture

At my highschools we never had that much of a dress code. We just couldn't wear anything that was " gang related."

well, i have a different opion

as long as it isn't as wacked out like Jinny Girl' is.. if it's like, i dunno, a uniform that you have to wear everyday, like a private school, then I would be fine with it.. cause it would be a hell of a lot easier to wake up and not worry about what i'm going to wear to school.. tha way, when i go clothes shopping, i can buy whatever the hell i want, cause i know, i won't have to wear it to school, therefor it doens't have to appeal to some dresscode, IE: straps must be 3 fingers wide, shorts must not be shorer than finger tips, etc...

that's just me

and as far as individualtiy goes... I express myself outside of school rather than inside.. i could honestly careless when i'm @ school

OMG our school is so obsessed with the dress code, lol. We can't wear shorts that are any shorter than our middle finger when we put our arms down at our sides. Our tops have to be long enough that they don't show any skin when we put our arms up. Ugh, it's sooo annoying. And if they catch you wearing "inappropriate clothing" you change into your PE uniform. I hate it, I can't wear shorts now.....

and the general rooles at my school suck too. You and ur friends need a picture ID before going into a dance to prove you are a HS student, and if ur firends dont have one their school has to fax their info over before their let in. if u get more than 3 detentions, you get thrown out of school. If u smoke, drink, or do drugs (which is more understandabke but still this rule sux) you get fined, forced to take counseling, do community service... and after that they still might throw you out. i should last about 3 we... 3 days. I hope i get thrown out. for the last 3 weeks the fact im going there makes everything weird. i think ive cried for 3 weeks strait. all those ridiculouse dress codes and dance regulations and reasons you can get thrown out... If my parents make me stay... in 2 years im dropping out... permanantly. everything sucks anyway. i dont know why... i just hate everyone and everything recently.
