The WEIRD Nickelodeon Channel That Was Forgotten About

Nickelodeon Games and Sports or known as Nickelodeon GAS or even as Nick GAS, was a spin-off channel to Nickelodeon that focused on sport related programs and playing old episodes of classic Nickelodeon game shows. The channel is super nostalgic to me, but maybe not for the reasons that Nickelodeon originally intended. Today, let's take a look at the Nickelodeon Games and Sports channel, see how it started, look back at the programs they played and what happened to the channel in the end.

When Nickelodeon announced a new channel to join the Nickelodeon family little did we know how this new channel would react to it's new success and become popular. So when Nick GAS "Games And Sports" as it was christened debuted many fans were delighted to see the classic Nickelodeon game shows together on one channel. But when I saw it for the first time at my cousin's house I think Nickelodeon copied Game Show Network because this channel was essentially a Nickelodeon version of a kids Game Show Network. Surely you got to see the classic game shows like Double Dare Family Double Dare Double Dare 2000 Nickelodeon Guts Legends Of The Hidden Temple Nick Arcade and so many others but I think why the reason Nick GAS failed was because they didn't have a full lineup and new and original game shows and that could've saved Nick GAS from an early death. But I don't understand why Paramount+ doesn't design a Nick GAS section for it's Nickelodeon game shows because game shows like Get The Picture Wild And Crazy Kids Finders Keepers Figure It Out and other shows need to be on there and a new Nick GAS section would be great for Paramount+
