TV Eve Plumb is Auctioning Off her "Brady Bunch" Memorabilia

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ky2yFuYtEao

It's a sunshine day as Julien's Auctions presents "BRADY BUNCH AND MORE: EVE PLUMB’S “JAN BRADY” & CAREER ARCHIVES" taking place online Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023.

The exclusive auction celebration of the career of the beloved television star and artist, Eve Plumb, most famous for her iconic role of Jan on The Brady Bunch will showcase a “very Brady” collection of her career archives and personal memorabilia, such as Plumb’s and the cast autographed original teleplays of some of the most famous Brady Bunch episodes, early career photographs, documents, personal items, as well as jewelry, a vintage Barbie watch and other Brady ephemera from the classic television series and enduring pop culture phenomenon that spawned a franchise that included spin-off series, feature films, an animated series, television specials, soundtracks and more.

That's usually not a good sign, I hope everything is OK.

But I understand why she is doing it. Shes hoarded it for half a century. Why not let others have it and make tons of money. When HGTV did their Brady House show, they took you to Eve's storage locker and she showed how much stuff she had. I am sure she will keep a few keepsakes. But why hold on to so many Brady Bunch scripts and things. Eve is very smart in business. She could have sold this 25 years ago when the Brady Bunch movie made the Brady's famous again. She's held on to it long enough for it to peak in value.

This! I totally get her wanting to do this. No kids to leave it to and plenty of it is still in circulation anyway. Can't take it with you. Might as well make others happy.

Eve has been married twice and both times was of what might be called "child-bearing age," so it's a little surprising that she has no children.

Her older sister Flora has passed away. Apparently Eve doesn't have a substantial size immediate family to pass items onto, if she were so inclined.

Blind Item! - Eve Plumb is hard up for cash

So downsizing equals being "hard up for cash" -- ? Not necessarily...

...especially considering a person who is now older and realizes she can't take the stuff with her when she eventually passes away.

Eve is not hard up for cash. She has always been really good with her money. She sold her Malibu house years ago for a huge profit. She had her own HGTV show and has always made money with her artwork. Her husband also has a really good job. At some point in your life you have to part with your memorabilia. Will she make big bucks on this? Yes she will. She was smart and waited 50 years. No one in the cast has anything close to what she has kept.

Some actors keep very little in the way of memorabilia -- for example, David Cassidy once mentioned he never kept things as his career went on because his thinking was that most items (like merchandising products) were not unique, and could be replaced if he were so inclined.

About Eve not having children, somewhere I read (don't remember where) that she didn't want any.

The six Brady kids only have six kids between them.
Greg 2, Marcia 1, Bobby 2, Cindy 1.

The one question I have, are any of the Brady kids grandparents?

I think she waited too long. I think 25 years ago, the nostalgia market would have been stronger. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I think more people of her generation realize that downsizing is a better thing to do as you get closer to the end of your earthly journey.

My prediction may be way off the mark and I may need to eat crow.
