I didn't know about this but it doesn't surprise me. The Day After freaked a lot of people out, and I can see, based on the timing of these episodes, why they were pulled from syndication. My own teacher the next day immediately started off class telling us not to think about the TV movie. She looked and sounded so depressed when she said it.
