Default Price is Right contestant dislocates arm

https://www.imdb.com/news/ni64123530...0in%20February).

Apparently, a contestant named Henry took that challenge a little too literally. On Thursday's episode of the CBS show, Henry was so happy that he won the game of Bonkers that he managed to dislocate his right shoulder while jumping up and down in celebration. (The episode was taped in February).

Around 1997, a rather overweight contestant fractured his leg. I have the show somewhere here in my mess at home. Bob Barker had to spin for him. I believe he made the Showcase!

On the short-lived “Whew!” in 1979, an injury also occurred to a guy named Stephen, as he got overexcited. He couldn’t play the final Gauntlet round until a few weeks later. It ran on Buzzr and it should be on YouTube.

I thought it was from spinning that heavy ass wheel to see who goes to the Showcase round.

I remember that episode of Whew! vividly; not only did it air on Buzzr, but it's also available for viewing on YouTube! The unfortunate contestant's name was Stephen Matthews, and he did indeed injure himself--he painfully dislocated his knee (ouch) during his moment of victory--when he became a wee bit excited and ecstatic after winning the all-too-crucial tie-breaking third round. Mr. Matthews did ultimately return to Whew! a couple of months later following his convalescence--Whew! had already transitioned into a celebrity format by that period in its short year-long run--to play the dreaded Gauntlet of Villains lightning round for his opportunity to win a then-astronomical $25,000, the maximum limit on CBS at that time. (Don't worry, guys and gals--I won't spoil the outcome of Mr. Matthews' triumphant return to Whew!'s soundstage; you'll all have to watch it yourselves on the electronic device of your choice.) All in all, Stephen Matthews is undoubtedly one of the greatest game show contestants of all time, alongside Thom McGee (Tic Tac Dough), John Carpenter (Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?), and, of course, the one and only Ken Jennings (Jeopardy!)!

So, without further ado, here are the two YouTube links for both of those episodes of Whew! (if all of you are interested, that is):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCJJGmVuk-k (Matthews' triumphant return to Whew! following his much-needed convalescence)

Enjoy your fantastic Friday, as well as your upcoming weekend, everyone!
