Question When Angela started her own advertising agency, why did she call it The Bower Agency?

That was the surname of her ex-husband, Michael, who didn't really seem to support her career that much and was kind of a jerk anyway. Should she have taken back her maiden name or at least called her business The Robinson Agency?

Holy ****, every few years I re-watch this series and I never thought of that. You're absolutely right, this should've been a bone of contention on Mona's part too!

There are a lot of divorced women who still keep their married name. A good reason might be for the kids so their bio parents don't have two different last names.

Demi Moore is one of the first names that I thought of. Her birth name is Demi Gene Guynes. "Moore" comes from her first marriage to Freddy Moore. I'm assuming that she kept "Moore" as her professional surname because at that point, she was already getting well established in Hollywood to just go back like that.

Cheryl Ladd is another one that I thought of. Her maiden name is Cheryl Jean Stoppelmoor. "Ladd" comes from her marriage to David Ladd, which ended in 1980. Again, Cheryl had since that time, already been established in Hollywood with Charlie's Angels (which pretty much, officially put her on the map) and what not, so it isn't like she could just go back to calling herself Cheryl Jean Stoppelmoor if that makes sense.

Admittedly, I don't entirely understand nor approve (to be brutally honest) women in the public eye changing their surnames publicly and professionally immediately upon marriage. This isn't necessarily a feminist thing per se, maybe I'm of the opinion that you shouldn't confuse your audience like that, especially if you've already been around for a while. Also, why should we care who your husband is?
