The relationship between Sheldon Cooper and Howard Wolowitz is often a complicated one in The Big Bang Theory.

Sheldon, who can struggle at times with empathy, has a habit of putting Howard down. Often referring to himself as smarter and having a better career, Sheldon regularly upsets Howard with remarks. Sheldon can't help but be jealous when Howard is given an opportunity that he has dreamed of since a child.

Though the remarks aren't always one way. Howard regularly gets his own back on Sheldon. One time he frustrated Sheldon by refusing to tell him how he was doing a card trick, when really it was one big prank as the trick never worked.

Yet despite all their difficulties they do have a genuine friendship, which is cemented more when the pair encounter terrible turbulence on a flight. Sheldon vows to be more respectful of Howard after being saddened that Howard asked for it to be written into an agreement. Howard even supports Sheldon when he learns his mother is dating again.

The pair might not have the perfect friendship, but when it comes down to it, they have each other's back.

I don’t know. Although Sheldon loves Trek and Science Fiction, I don’t think the character could survive the rigors of space travel, the closed, confined spaces, the toilet facilities or any of that. Plus I have read that space smells of burnt hair. There are videos of astronauts who have been up there and while it is an honor, it’s dangerous, hazardous, a lot of work in closed confined spaces.

Plus, Sheldon is scared of chickens, much less being strapped to a tin can rocket being shot into space by flammable gasses. Being an astronaut takes balls and Sheldon’s didn’t descend until he was ten.
