Default 10 TV Shows That Were Doomed From The Start

http://whatculture.com/tv/10-tv-show...-the-start.php

Quote:
Sometimes a great idea is conceived, carefully nurtured, blossoms and becomes a treatment, then a pilot, then a freshman season, and finally television history, a ratings smash and an award-munching critical juggernaut. Far more often, unfortunately, that great idea is derailed somewhere along the way and never sees the light of day.

And then there are the other ones. The palsied, genetically stunted misfit siblings to those creative gems: the televisual abortions that somehow avoid all the pitfalls of television production that normally break the ankles of hopeful pilots looking to break the big time.

Some TV shows are just such a terrible, terrible idea that they should have been put down before they came within a hundred miles of a television set. Tragically, several have proven to be reasonably financially successful, which a) proves that there’s no accounting for taste and b) gives unwanted encouragement to the people in charge, letting them believe that they’re on the right track.

I don’t care how many people watched them, bought the boxsets or cosplayed the lead characters on their wedding days: they’re not on the right track. They left the right track a long time ago, and are now lost in the haunted swamp of crapulence where no one will ever find the bodies.
Here they are, one last time before those stinking waters take them. May god have mercy upon their souls…

Wow this is an awful list. So a show is doomed from the start but can still last several years? Here's some better suggestions:
"Knights of Prosperity" The "let's rob Mick Jagger" show. What crazy exec thought you could set a full time show on this premise.
"The Ugliest Girl in Town" As "Bosom Buddies" showed, a drag themed sitcom is not doomed. It iswhen you look like this!
"The Richard Pryor Show" Putting a edgy, taboo shattering guy on at 8pm against "Happy Days" has to be the dumbest slotting decision ever made.
"Pink Lady and Jeff" Two girls who nobody had ever heard of. Who don't speak English. Do I have to go any further?

I definitely heard of them before the TV series aired as did others.

i think that article was doomed from the start; completely devoid of any logical reasoning, a disjointed mess of a bunch of words thrown together

Didnt read the article but did they put WBF Bodystars number 4. That person knows that was a fitness show. Also the WBF was created by Vince McMahon.

Hey I liked Smallville. But I do think they should've ended the series sooner than they did.

Alternately some shows fit in the "Brillant but Cancelled" category.
Some (very few) shows were cancelled though they had good concept, plots,
and characters.
Of course it is a matter of opinion

I Married Dora and Outsourced were both doomed. I saw I Married Dora but refused to watch Outsourced because outsourcing to me isn't funny.
