TMC Member Forum Idol Join Date: Jan 09, 2001 Posts: 124,453	How come Television Academy never seemed to warm to it Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Designing Woman a critics darling as well as its Monday night, CBS stablemate, Murphy Brown? Linda Bloodworth Thomason made no secret of her disdain over The Golden Girls getting numerous Emmy nominations year after year while her show got shut out. Finally, they nominated it for Best Comedy and Supporting Actress in 1989, but it still wasn't enough. Delta Burke wasn't even on for most of the season where she earned her second Emmy nomination, and even Delta was surprised when she got another nomination that year.
