If so, could it be because its 'wholesome family' sensibilities kind of clashed with the more risque late '90s? To give you a better idea, there was an entire story arc about how it would be wrong for Cory and Topanga to have sex before marriage. They may have later abandoned that and yet, still tried to be as edgy as TGIF would let you at the time.
Also, Boy Meets World seemed to go through a period where the writers couldn't decided what they wanted the show to be. So by the time the college seasons hit, they Flanderized the daylights out of just about everyone (in particular, Eric) and rendered Cory's parents completely useless. |

I always felt it was a goofy show with Save By The Bell type of plots.
