Thank you. I did my fair share of riding in those days: sidewalks, driveways, etc.

A friend of mine circa 1977 had a very expensive skateboard he wanted to ride to grade school, several blocks away, but feared it would be stolen there.

So we arranged that he ride it to my house on school days, very close to our school, and I would keep it in the house -- we then made the very short walk. A good friend who later lost his younger brother. They were David, Danny (dec'd), and Donnie.

Somehow he'd managed to buy a custom-made aluminum board for over $100 -- at a time when a comic book cost a mere 35 cents...! Some years later, he mentioned he wished he'd spent the money on a bicycle instead.
