DVD Season 1 is almost cringeworthy. I’m sure there are decent episodes, but IMO I could see CBS ready to lower the boom.

However CBS gave it another chance, and with the Beverly Hillbillies with it, the rest is history.

Also season 2 centered more on the workplace, where most of the humor was milked. They almost completely wrote Ritchie out.

It was s2 that brought us “It May Look Like a Walnut,” by far the best and most surreal episode that show ever had.
