How could we forget how awesome these sitcoms are? For this list, we’ll be ranking the classic sitcoms that may not make everyday conversation, but are reliably funny from week to week. Our countdown includes "Spin City," "Soap," "Taxi," and more! What sitcom do YOU feel gets forgotten?

There is no link so I don’t know what other examples are given.

Soap was one of the funniest and most original shows of all time with a stellar cast. Yes, children, there were “snowflakes” back in the late 1970’s who hated the show and demanded its cancellation instead of just not watching it. Soap was cancelled because advertisers didn’t want to be associated with it. The makers of Soap, mainly Susan Harris wanted the show to only go five years to complete the story. At least we got four, but we’re left with “cliffhangers” which will remain forever unsolved.

“Taxi” to me was probably one of the best crafted shows on the air, with an incredible cast and excellent storytelling. It really also caught the feel of the era of the early 1980’s. The theme song is probably my favorite TV theme song of all time. That show spun off several good and long careers. Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd, Judd Hirsch, Tony Danza (who I like but many don’t like), Merilu Henner, Carol Kane. Every writer who wants to write for television should be made to watch Taxi.

Shows listed in this video and my opinions of them:
#10: 3rd Rock from the Sun – This show is okay. I never watched it much, though I’ve seen a few episodes. I think if I gave it more of a chance, I could really like it.
#9: Spin City – This is a really funny show that I didn’t watch until it came to DVD.
#8: The Hogan Family – It’s been so long since I’ve watched this show. I remember loving it.
#7: The New Adventures of Old Christine – I’ve only seen a couple of episodes. It’s alright.
#6: Soap – This was a groundbreaking show that’s very funny. I especially love Richard Mulligan’s Burt Campbell.
#5: Designing Women – A funny show that I don’t watch too much of these days.
#4: Night Court – A Classic. One of the best sitcoms ever made.
#3: NewsRadio – My favorite sitcom of all-time! A truly wonderful sitcom that was both smart yet silly and was never fully appreciated in its time (or any time).
#2: Taxi – One of the best sitcoms ever made. It’s in my top 5.
#1: WKRP in Cincinnati – One of the unfunniest sitcoms I’ve ever seen. I gave it a few chances in my life and have always found this show to be lame. Great cast, horrible, unfunny writing.

Honorable Mentions:
‘til Death – I’m glad to see this mentioned. I think the show is hilarious but it’s often referred to as one of the worst sitcoms.
Still Standing – I haven’t seen it since it aired but I remember hating it.
Mama’s Family – A funny show that got better when it went into first-run syndication.
Barney Miller – A clever show that I like but never found all that funny. It’s one of my dad’s favorites.
The Drew Carey Show – I’ve not seen enough of this to really judge it but what little I saw didn’t impress me.

Ranking the shows listed from best to worst
1. WKRP in Cincinnati- Bravo of them putting this in first place, well deserved.
2. Barney Miller
3. Night Court
4. 3rd Rock from the Sun
5. Taxi- I like what I have seen of it, but not much sampling. It ticked me off when the Decades marathon a few years ago had such lousy livestream reception, might have been soon after this I gave up on that station.
big gap to the rest of their picks
6. Spin City- not nearly as good as Family Ties but decent sometimes
7. Still Standing- better than Yes, Dear and near According to Jim. Nothing special, but I might watch if it ever came back to cable.
8. NewsRadio- easily better than overrated Friends, lousy Drew Carey below, and higher profile Will and Grace/Just Shoot Me. but nowhere near Frasier, Mad About You, Seinfeld, and the previously mentioned 3rd Rock from the Sun
9. Mama's Family- the only one here I have not seen a full episode of, don't know if I would like it either. It would probably fit in this slot.
10. The Hogan Family- easily better when it was Valerie, Sandy Duncan was a big downgrade for lead actress. Jason Bateman is overrated as well. Other shows from the same period like Mr. Belvedere and Howard Hesseman's Head of the Class are much, much better.
11. Designing Women
12. Til Death- not a good show, however better than Brad Garrett's recent awful Single Parents
13. The Drew Carey Show
14. The New Adventures of Old Christine- horrible
15. Soap- very unfunny garbage. Benson spin-off is 100 times better.

Spin City was really funny, until season 3!
