This is pretty much the opposite of my past thread on the very worst showrunners ever. Has there ever been a time that a show has actually improved under new leadership?

I can't think of any so far... most shows were better in their earliest seasons.

I always felt “A Different World” improved starting with season 2 when Debbie Allen took over from the previous showrunners.

I think when Dan Schneider left Nickelodeon in 2018, even with new showrunner, quality somehow somewhat improved.

Anne Beatts, who had previously worked on Saturday Night Live and more importantly, Square Pegs, was the showrunner for A Different World in much of its first year.
