Pretty useless review by people that think they are experts by reading Wiki.

Welcome Back is an amazing tune. It has stood the test of time maybe better than the TV series it came from. Debuted at #84 on the 3/27/76 Billboard Hot 100 and reached #1 on the May 8th panel.

It's a great tv song. I remember listening to it on the radio as well.

I agree its a great tune and fits the mid 70s sound perfectly.
The song was better than the show IMHO

To me, in my opinion, the tune works good enough as a TV sitcom theme song, but to release it as a single and then become a #1 hit was stretching things a bit too far.

As for the TV show itself, Welcome Back Kotter is pretty good, except for the last season which was adversely affected with drama and tension that was happening behind the scenes.
