Jennifer Hudson & Sherri Shepherd Syndicated Talk Shows Renewed at Fox Television Stations

Freshman syndicated daytime talkers "The Jennifer Hudson Show" and "Sherri" both will be back for new seasons.

"The Jennifer Hudson Show" has been renewed for a second season and "Sherri" has been picked up for two more years through the 2024-25 season. Both shows are anchored by Fox Television Stations.




"The Jennifer Hudson Show" debuted as the 2022-23 season’s #1 new first-run series for the premiere week of September 12 with households and total viewers and is said to be averaging 5.2 million weekly viewers.

It features celebrity interviews, topical stories, community heroes, viral sensations, and music.




"Sherri", the #1 new nationally syndicated daytime talker from Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury, originates from New York’s Chelsea Studios in front of a live studio audience.

In the weekday show, Shepherd offers her comedic take on the day’s entertainment news, pop culture and trending topics, along with celebrity and human interest interviews.

Sherri Shepherd cleans house - fires production team from the 'Wendy' show

Sherri Shepherd is washing her hands of Wendy Williams’ top producers for Season 2 of her eponymous daytime talk show.

Shepherd inherited Williams’ longtime executive producers David Perler and Suzanne Bass — who also appeared with Williams on camera daily — as EPs for her show when it premiered last fall.

Sources told Page Six they got the axe this week, as Season 1 of “Sherri” comes to a close at the end of this month.

We’re told Shepherd naturally wanted “fresh energy” for her new season.

The decision doesn’t come as a surprise for Perler, we hear, since he stayed on “to help get through the hump of launching a new show,” according to one source.

Bass was more of a “sidekick and buffer” to Williams’ former “Hot Topics” act, which isn’t as useful for Shepherd, who is also a comedian and actress, we’re told.

"The Jennifer Hudson Show" has been renewed for a third season by the Fox Television Stations and Hearst Television.

"The Jennifer Hudson Show" has posted growth among younger viewers (up 13 percent among A18-34) and averages 4.4 million total P2+ weekly viewers in its second season.

"Sherri" Renewed for Third Season in Syndication

"Sherri" will return for a third season. The talk show has been cleared in more than 95 percent of the U.S.

The nationally syndicated daytime weekday show airs on the Fox Television Stations, as well as the Nexstar, Sinclair, Hearst, Gray and Scripps broadcast groups.

"The Jennifer Hudson Show" has been renewed for a fourth season by the Fox Television Stations.

The Daytime Emmy-nominated show saw significant growth in 2025, reaching a season-high of total viewers during the week of January 13 with +21% increase in A25-54 (since late October 2024).



“It is an unbelievable privilege to spend your days being able to engage with inspiring people from all walks of life; to hear their stories and connect on shared experiences; and to hopefully leave audiences a little more joyful than when they arrived,” said Hudson in a statement.
