Default Actors you are surprised by their age

My example is Adam Scott, who is now on Severance and who played Ben on Parks and Recreation.

He is going to be 50 in April. He just doesnt seem that old, he has always seemed youthful, almost like a college student. But I noticed on Severance that he has actually aged, but still thought he was in his late 30's.

Some older examples, on Sanford and Son, Redd Foxx was only 49 the first season playing a 65 year old. Whitman Mayo was like 41 playing a man arguably older than Fred. Lena Horne was actually about five years older than Redd Foxx.

Gordon Jump who played "The Big Guy" on WKRP was only in his mid 40's. He seemed older than that, like ten years older.

Other examples?

Judd Hirsch was 43 when Taxi started. I saw him on Jimmy Kimmel Live! the other night. I can't believe he is 87. He looks about 20 years younger. His mind is still very sharp.

This is kind of an obvious one, but Ralph Macchio. I have a hard time wrapping around my brain the fact that he's 61 years old now. Admittedly, he always had something of a babyface (he was already in his early 20s when he did the first Karate Kid) but he legitimately looks like he could be in his mid 40s at the most.

Victor Buono, who was King Tut on the Adam West version of Batman and later Reverend Jim Ignatowski's father on Taxi. He was only 43 when he died in 1982. This meant that when he was playing King Tut, he was still in his 20s.

Here is Victor on The Tonight Show in 1975. You would be blameless if you for a second, didn't think that this man was actually 37 years of age at the time:

That Len "Henry Reagan" Cariou is only 6 years older than his son Tom "Frank Reagan" Selleck

Marlo Thomas is 85. Very "well-preserved," I have to say.

Rita Moreno is 90 and looks good. If I was in my late 80's, I would make a play for her. Not for sex, but a 4:00 dinner somewhere, and then home under a blanket and a warm fire watching Dr. Phil.

Paul Rudd is another obvious "go-to" answer at this point. He's actually 53 years old right now.

I happened to bump into Tattletales the games show with Bert Convey and there was Whitman Mayo and his wife. If I recall in Sanford and Son his hair was gray most likely to make him look older but here on Tattletale nice brown hair.

Julia Duffy as Stephanie on Newhart. Duffy was in her early 30s when she started on the show, but I always thought that Stephanie was 10 years younger, just starting out in life. I recently caught an episode where they actually addressed this, and Stephanie told the others, “I’m not as young as you think I am.” LOL.
