Default Fans Are Losing Interest After Season 13 Episode 8's Repetitive Storylines

https://www.looper.com/1135010/blue-...ve-storylines/

Quote:
After watching Episode 8, fans feel like Blue Bloods Season 13 is recycling plot formulas

After "Blue Bloods" Season 13, Episode 8 first aired on CBS, users shared their thoughts about it in a Reddit thread asking viewers to comment on its quality. Sentiments among those who watched this episode, as it turned out, were largely negative.

"This entire season has been one bland episode after another. There's no real storyline that crosses every episode, and it's been like that for a while," wrote user missakieva. On a similar note, user Kingbadfish singled out Garrett Moore (Gregory Jbara)'s storyline as something they felt they had seen many times prior. Meanwhile, user Zaiah_black simply shared that they didn't enjoy the episode, citing a few examples of plot points they didn't think were up to par.

User Upbeat-Recognition75 likewise found moments of the episode reminiscent of earlier events, writing, "The most intriguing part was learning that Jamie's boss handpicked him. Otherwise the other subplots were variations of earlier episodes."

In a TVLine interview about Season 13, showrunner Kevin Wade described "Blue Bloods" as "a closed-end procedural," which he defined as a show in which each episode stands completely on its own. Repetitive storylines, then, are perhaps a byproduct of a format in which longer form storytelling is an impossibility. In any case, after 13 seasons, the closed-end procedural format seems to be wearing thin for plenty of longtime viewers.

I feel that they are being overly cryptic in defining Jamie's new role. I'm sure they are trying to brew mystery by being overly opaque...but I'm not enjoying feeling "played" by it.

Similarly to how some horror movies try to use inadequate lighting to make scenes seem more mysterious.....I just don't thrill on being teased

I have noticed after benjing season 1 to season 13 is they have a lot of the same story lines as Chicago PD. The story lines started getting repetitive after Leonard Goldberg passed away. I think what would be an excellent 2 or 3 episode conclusion should be about a top drug lord that starting traveling to the U.S. to conduct business in New York faked Linda's death & has been holding her captive just in case he needs a 1st grade Dick to get him out of New York without getting arrested. I think that would be an awesome comeback for Linda, that's if the actress still wants to play Linda, that is

Also what is it with Danny being a Homicide Dick but yet he does robbery cases, rape cases, abductions, kidnapping's (no FBI involvement) and of course Murder lol I love watching this show for some reason and I can't understand why because I cannot stand Franks thinking & the 3 blind mice who think no cop can do wrong. I know, I know, this show is based on an alternative reality but the show still does shows that are meaningful to the reality of today and the message this show sends about the NYPD is wrong on so many levels. I bet they have input by ex or current NYPD because only a cop would think the way Frank and Sids lines are written.

All I know is if they keep going with the dumb position Jamie has is going to drag the show down. It seems ever since the original Executive Director passed away the show has been going down because of decisions like having Jamie as some kind of intelligent officer "Really?" and they are repeating story lines and why doesn't Tom Selleck have more of a producer role being that he has been in the business since his 20's or at least get some ideas from the cast because whomever they have writing these shows needs to be fired for the corny manuscripts. I wish Goldberg was still around because they are running his final big hit TV show into the ground all for $$$ which is so disrespectful to his memory.

I want Jamie to go back to patrol sergeant and for Eddie to be written off the show because she is obnoxious.

Lol, for me it's Jamie who is the arrogant one. Mr. Super cop who does everything perfect, just like Frank thinks he was annointed by God as Commissioner lmfao

To me, if anyone should be written out of the show, it is Joe Jr.'s mom. Considering the fact that she has no apologies or regrets for keeping Joe Jr.'s existence from Joe Sr. and the rest of the family, I have absolutely zero use for her.

God bless you always!!!

This most recent episode with the broken toombstone being an apt illustration. So someone has violated the sanctity of Reagan honor, so lets just get out the rubber hoses and start beating people until we obtain a confession? lol!

The Reagans are SO FULL of themselves, I guess the loss of son Joe was not enough? My prediction is they will have to lose another family member to violence before finding "humble".

I still enjoy the show, but there is this persistent infection that needs to be cured.

^^^ The helicopter crash that took Linda from the Regan family wasn't just an accident. It was a form of retaliation against Danny when the person responsible decided that Danny's house being set on fire was not sufficient enough.

God bless you always!!!

Yeah, but Linda was an "honorary" Reagan. I think for any such loss to have the effect I envision, it will necessarily have to rip a foundation stone right out from ol Frank's heart.

I mean just look at the lay of the land now ...Linda died, the Reagans are unbroken, Danny's house burns, the Reagans remain unbroken... it's gonna take something more formidable to put them in touch with their own frailties.

Maybe if Eddie and Jamie had a son, and named it Francis Xavier...that might be a good start?
