Shows that are too big to fail - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Are there shows do you never see ending or being canceled because they're "too big to fail", meaning, they make the network that airs them too much money?

Not a comedy or drama, but it seems many games shows go on and on. Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Price is Right, and I never could understand how Let's make a Deal returned after being off the air for quite awhile.

The network morning shows, NBC Today, ABC Good Morning America and CBS Morning Show (CBS for years was a distant third to the other two shows but now have seem to find its footing) have been on for decades. Now and for years they have competition mainly from FOX and to a lesser degree MSNBC.

I argue that the late night talk shows are not going anywhere. Neither is Saturday Night Live although this is debatable. NBC makes enough revenue from SNL being in that time slot, what else would replace it? Maybe when the head of SNL retires like he said he would in 2025 when SNL turns 50, that the show might be replaced by another comedy revue, or not. But I think with their budget and advertising revenue, it will stay on until the apocolypse.

Other shows such as talks, quiz and so on I honestly don't watch them, I suppose a few will be aired for a long time.

What about all those procedural shows like Law & Order, CSI and NCIS (and their respective spinoffs, especially L&O: Special Victims Unit), and Blue Bloods? Also, Grey's Anatomy (a medical drama).
