Question Did Danny really not have a lot of major storylines

I mean, outside some early episodes dealing with the loss of his wife and his relationship with Vicky do we otherwise, see surprisingly little of Danny? He's pretty much left to serve as the anchor of the house and provide stability to the other members of the family while the focus is on them.

I mean, compare that to say, Jesse, who always was written to be a much more interesting and complex character on the show. A lot of the storylines focused on Jesse, seemingly disproportionate to the other characters. We got storylines about Jesse’s music, Jesse’s career issues, Jesse’s family problems, etc.

When Full House debuted in 1987 it was a wholesome family sitcom that was cute and dealt with many serious issues in a friendly manner and it was great to see a father who was the lead character which was sometimes rare in family sitcoms. But why I think Danny Tanner didn't have a lot of major storylines was because even though Bob Saget was the main star of Full House Bob probably thought that Danny needed more development as a character and since Danny Tanner was a widow that needed to focus on raising his three daughters a lot the writers of Full House really couldn't design storylines for episodes that involved Danny they needed to focus on Uncle Jesse Uncle Joey and Stephanie Michelle and DJ Tanner first before focusing on Danny Tanner's life and so that's why Dave Collier and John Stamos gave the characters of Jesse and Joey a happy and funny personality and that's why some of the first Full House episodes have storylines based around Joey and Jesse. But I think like when Michelle began talking in Season 2 of Full House Season 2 is also when we see more focus on Danny Tanner because when Full House began Danny was a sportscaster but when Danny got the job as Wake Up San Francisco's host in Season 2 more storylines were made for Danny and I think Bob Saget got his wish because Danny had grown from a wonderful father figure to successful TV host and not only that Danny was able to get a girlfriend for Jesse in Becky Donaldson and when she and Jesse got married Aunt Becky was a great match for a fun character. But I wonder if Vicky had married Danny Tanner Full House would've stayed for another season with more Danny Tanner centered storylines

We did see him take interest in other ladies besides Vicki. Gia's mom was his significant other when the show ended. Before Vicki entered the picture, he dated the single mother of the boy named Rusty. During the first season, he was friends with a lady named Caroline I believe was her name and they met during the episode when he goes fishing with Jesse and Joey. Season three I believe is when he dates Stephanie's dance teacher. The lady ended up being exact opposite of Danny when we see how messy her address was inside.

God bless you always!!!
