It debuted on NBC on August 23, 1990. The series got mostly negative reviews, and despite starting off strong in the ratings, the ratings fell to very low numbers within weeks and was canceled after 13 episodes.

Part of its downfall was it being compared to the hit movie, but also being compared to Fox's Parker Lewis Can’t Lose, a far more popular series that lasted 3 seasons (and with much better ratings).
