What was the showrunner thinking by allowing Erin Moran to wear an '80s perm and makeup in a supposed period series? Joanie Loves Chachi was set circa 1964, so she should have had a big beehive or bouffant or something.

There was not much attentiveness in the way of adhering to styles of the era, be it hair or clothing, on the Marshall series' latter years.

Let's take a visual tour of Erin Moran's hairstyles as Joanie on Happy Days and JLC. As a fan of Erin, this topic is of special interest to me.

Prior to her HD role, she had appeared with her hair in ponytails on series like Daktari, Family Affair, and My Three Sons.

definite crush on her. I just found her so attractive:

We begin again with a look at the obvious fullness of Erin's hair
on Happy Days. She is a lovely young woman with a beautiful figure:


At this point, Erin's hair is in a tight and (for lack of a better term)
frizzy perm. Although she appears with a healthy weight here, in
some episodes wearing this hairstyle she borders on being too slender.
This would prove to be her final longer hairstyle. With Marion Ross:


Here with Scott Baio, Erin's hair is shorter and in a controlled style.
She has taken the opportunity to wear tasteful earrings. I like
Erin's smile in this photo, she looks very attractive:

Somewhat startling is Erin's new, short hairstyle seen here. Erin's
face appears very lovely and appealing in profile:

matured, having spent so much of her young adulthood on camera

It's hard for me to believe Erin has been gone for eight years now.
I still think of her often. In her memory, I wanted to compile some

All of Happy Days had stylish 1970s hair after the first or second season. Chachi included. Potsy wore the typical longer hair that men wore in 1977 and 1978. That would have been ridiculous in the late 1950s early 1960s.
