I wonder why ABC didn't place Living Dolls next or near to its parent show, Who's the Boss? I went back and looked, and The Wonder Years aired right after WTB on Tuesday nights in the 1989-90. This was followed by Roseanne and another short-lived sitcom for ABC, Chicken Soup.
Instead, after airing right after WTB for the pilot on September 26, 1989, ABC shipped it off to Saturday nights right after a dying Mr. Belvedere, which in itself, ended its run that season. It naturally, appeared to also die against NBC's Saturday night line-up: 227, Amen, The Golden Girls, and Empty Nest. |

Yeah it seemed like that would have made more sense. I wonder why the first ep that aired after WTB was so high in the ratings? Im thinking because that episode of WTB was a set up episode for Living Dolls along with the promo that night letting viewers know Living Dolls was coming up next. Seems odd that the 2nd episode would be such a huge drop in the ratings all because it was on Saturday night |
