When the first season aired it was on every magazine, ABC advertised the hell out of it, and it seemed to hit at the right moment. Yet, it seems to be almost totally forgotten, unless the Teri Hatcher drama is mentioned. Compare the show with Sex and the City, which ended the same year that Desperate Housewives started. SATC is still talked about, it had two movies and recently got a follow up series.
