I think that one of the main problems with Glee was that they chose songs to go along with specific storylines in the beginning.

As the show went on they seemed to just go with whatever was popular at the time, like Gangnam Style and What Does the Fox Say?, and made the plot secondary to the songs.

The Mindy Project didn't age well either and it's own main problem is that actress Mindy Kaling isn't showing enough patience on focus-dating white men to the public at all.
