Snooki and her fellow Jersey Shore Family Vacation cast members released a joint statement this morning in reaction to news of the sequel series, saying: "As a cast that took a chance with a network in need, we put our most vulnerable moments on television for the world to see. We gave our all over the past 13 years, became a family and continue to open our lives to the world. So please understand that we are not in support of a version that will exploit our original show, our hard work and authenticity to gain viewers.”

I can’t begin to express to you all how “proud” the residents of the Garden State are of the “Jersey Shore” program. Yes, from the state that has been the starting place and home for such favorite sons as Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen and James Gandolfini, we now have a group of loud, crass and boorish young people, embarrassing New Jersey’s other 9.3 million residents.

Thankfully, most of these guttersnipes are not even homegrown New Jerseyans, but riffraff from New York and other states. (Think of contemporary Tony Maneros, Madonnas, Hunter Bidens and Alec Baldwins.)

So, the level of civility and decorum on the beautiful New Jersey shore has increased dramatically ever since that motley crew of uncouth louts has vacated that beach house in Seaside Heights, NJ.

New Jersey’s “loss,” is Florida’s “gain.” Sorry, Gov. DeSantis.
