Ice Cube's forgotten 2006 FX reality show Black. White. sparks Twitter discussion

The revelation that Ice Cube produced a reality show with famed documentarian R.J. Cutler -- in which a white family becomes Black and a Black family becomes white -- resulted in the rapper-turned-actor's name trending over the weekend. So The Root's Alexandra Jane decided to revisit Black. White. "And yes, every moment is as cringe worthy as expected," says Jane. "Since I was too busy in ‘06 leaning and rocking to be bothered with such a show, I thought I’d spend Sunday revisiting the tragedy that has the Twitterverse in meltdown mode...In order to dial up the drama just a bit, the FX series not only dolled the participants up on a day to day basis (hello blackface), but they put both families under the same roof of a house in the Valley. And this folks, is where we see the real fireworks."

I remember Ice Cube's groundbreaking "Black. White." as well, TMC! I have vivid memories of watching it on FX during the spring of 2006 and recording all six episodes on videotape for posterity! I now own "Black. White." on DVD (after purchasing the complete series box set at Dollar General several years ago for only a few dollars)!
