Who's the Boss? vs. Charles In Charge
Both shows first came on the air in 1984 and were about fish-out-of-water, Italian-American, and Brooklyn bred (Tony Danza and Scott Baio) male housekeepers. I find it interesting that at least three cast-members of Charles in Charge, were on Who's the Boss? Prior to landing her role as Jamie Powell on Charles in Charge, Nicole Eggert had a recurring role on WTB as Samantha Micelli's best friend Marci Crawford.
 Sandra Kerns, who played Nicole Eggert's mother, Ellen Powell on CIC, appeared in the WTB episode "Sex, Lies and Exercise Tape" from its sixth season. And Jonathan Ward, who played Douglas Pembroke in the first season of Charles in Charge was later on Who's the Boss? as Michael Learned's son, Rick Carlin, in the original backdoor pilot for the Living Dolls spin-off. |
