It was a silly show, but a hoot. The sitcom was simple - seven people are stranded on an uncharted desert isle.

But, who was the best actor in and out of Gilligan's Island?

I have to say Russell Johnson, but I'm biased since he did 2 Twilight Zone episodes.

Good question. It wasn't Natalie Schaeffer as she was already a wealthy lady and was probably exactly the same off-screen. I have a feeling Alan Hale Jr. was also the same off-screen. So I suppose I'd vote for Russell Johnson. He was pretty good as the Professor and in various characters in the dream sequences.

Of the seven stranded which one was acting and which ones were just playing who the actually were (more or less) ? Probably the professor was acting like a professor and in real life he was not like that (?)

what about the guest stars ? So Many to chose from ... some talented too ...

Russell Johnson was interviewed many times and asked about this or that scientific term he spouted off on the show. He said that he forgot his dialogue as soon as the episode was over and they were meaningless words to him.

I forgot in which dream sequence he played an old grubby man who when kissed didn't turn into a prince and he was hilarious in that. He was probably a pretty good comic actor but didn't get the chance.

That's an impossible question to answer. For me anyway. They were all excellent in their portrayals of their characters.
