Default Jeopardy! contestants apologize to Diana Ross for thinking she's 95 years old

https://nypost.com/2022/03/24/jeopar...me-age-insult/

The two contestants who wrote down Ross in Final Jeopardy when the actual answer was Tony Bennett said sorry via Twitter.

Ken Jennings comes off looking like a smug, little dork.

Bring back Buzzy Cohen!

What are the odd of two of them writing down Diana Ross?

I guess since both of them are such young, twenty-somethings, that they never had the opportunity to hear about Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, Jim Morrison, etc.

Since Ken Jennings was sort of a ringer, with his prior participation in college trivia tournaments, I was surprised he was defeated after so many “Jeopardy” wins by a question concerning war films and The Battle of the Bulge. I mean, Ken Jennings possessed such an almost encyclopedic knowledge of history, that that World War II question should have been an easy softball for Ken Jennings.

I’ll bet that such past “Jeopardy” champions as Frank Spangenberg, James Holzhauer and Roger Craig would have hit that softball question out of the park.

Ken's streak was stopped on a question about Business & Industry. The answer was H&R Block.

This is ridiculous, they shouldn't be apologizing for anything, they did nothing wrong. They have 30 seconds to write down an answer, nothing was coming to them, so they made their best guess, they heard of Ross, she was well before their time so they put her down. It's not like they put Katy Perry down, Ross will turn 78 tomorrow (3/26), she's no spring chicken.

But it was a question about war films, that Ken Jennings could have secured a runaway win, and he got it wrong. If he had answered that war film question correctly, the Final Jeopardy question would have been an after-thought for him, he would have been so far ahead, unless Jennings foolishly emulated the all-too-hubristic and all-too-cocky Cliff Claven on “Cheers.”

Ken was probably just burned out and not in top form on the day of his loss.

Yeah they have nothing to apologize for, and I think it's kind of ridiculous they feel they needed to.

I don't blame the contestants for not knowing Tony Bennett . I just thought, wait till Diana Ross hears that youngsters think she is 95!
