Following the release of a Doctor Who casting rumor report, fans react to the possibility of movie star Hugh Grant playing the 14th Doctor. Hugh Grant: No, I'm not the next Doctor Who The 61-year-old British actor responded on Twitter to a rumor started by the British tabloid The Mirror, tweeting: "Nothing against Dr W but I’m not. No idea where the story came from." Revisiting Hugh Grant's "Doctor Who" past Grant, who recently squashed a rumor he'll be the next Doctor, joined Rowan Atkinson, Richard E. Grant, Jim Broadbent, and Joanna Lumley to play the Doctor in the 20-minute 1999 Comic Relief charity special Doctor Who: The Curse of Fatal Death. The sketch was written by future Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat. |
