Why didn't Angela just boot Mona from her house and office

Not that Mona was an out an out horrible person, but none the less, she was always mean and insulting towards her daughter and she slacked off work. Plus, Mona would do incredibly stupid stuff behind Angela's back like losing Angela's car and necklace to Robert Culp while gambling in Atlantic City.

Somebody in another forum said it best, it's amazing how Angela, Tony, Mrs. Rossini and others in close proximity to Mona put up with her behavior for eight years.

Mona was often rude, lazy, ungrateful, and self-involved. Mona also had the audacity to constantly portray her daughter, Angela a loser, when all Mona was good for was to milk Angela's career success by sponging off of her.

And speaking of Mona's irresponsible and selfish behavior, I just saw the episode where Mona and Tony go to a fancy party to see Frank Sinatra. Mona not only steals the red dress that Angela intended to wear (before last second work forced her to bow out of attending the event), but she also got into the party by posing as Angela.

You immediate wonder why Angela can't get a "real" or "legit" secretary/receptionist instead of keeping her lazy, self-absorbed mother around.

If I'm not mistaken though, Mona did initially offer her services when Angela decided to start her own advertising firm. But still, like I said, Mona was often seen trying to find out ways to get out of having to work for a living. It is awfully ironic and hilarious in hindsight, that the producers considered spinning Mona off into her own show were she helped run her brother's hotel.

There's even an episode (the one where Sam's friend, Bonnie works in the office as Angela's assistant) where Mona would rather listen to music on her Walkman than do her job, such as answering the phone. I was wondering, if Mona has ever had a real job in her life or were Angela's father and later Angela herself, the sole breadwinners in her immediate family.
